PATRICK COSTILOW.

DRAFTING AND DESIGN

Hi, my name is Patrick and I am a graduate of Calhoun Community College in Decatur Alabama where i earned a certificate in Drafting Design Technology in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering.  While attending, I have been able to learn industry software including Autocad, Solidworks, Geomagic Design X, and Materilise Magic.  I also have been able to utilize current

technologies including Concept Lazer MLab Cusing R Metal 3D Printer, Fortus FDM 3D Printer 

and Luzbot 3D printers and also Faro Scanning Arm.

After school I worked for R2C Inc. where I was a Mechanical Designer and worked with the Mechanical Design Manager and engineering team in different projects related to government contracts. While there, I utilized Solidworks and Solidworks PDM software to create and update models, assemblies and drawings. I also setup files and operated prints for a Fusion3D printers.

MECHANICAL DESIGNER

As a mechanical designer, I helped out the engineering manager and the engineering team with creating and updating models, assemblies, and drawing for government contracts. I also utilized other programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Solidworks PDM. I also cultivated relationships with machinist, quality department and upper management within the company. I was also tasked with setting up files and operating a Fusion3D printer for various projects.

U.S. Space and Rocket Center Lunar Rover Replica

HISTORICAL AND MATERIALS TEAM LEADER

As the historical and materials leader, I was responsible for overseeing that all components, materials and aesthetics as a whole were accurately replicated when compared to the Apollo 16 and 17 Lunar Rover. I also lead a team in charge of designing multiple components that needed to be designed. I communicated with U.S. Space and Rocket Center staff, Apollo era officials, project leader and other rover team leaders to insure all designs will be designed to specification.

My job responsibilities ranged from designing simple layouts to, eventually, advancing to editorial duties which included handing out assignments as well as making final decisions of the theme, content, and overall appearance of the yearbook.
